San Elizario sits a short way south along the old Mission Trail, where century-old adobe houses and the historic presidio chapel share ground with working fields along the river. Barns full of retired equipment, a cleared-out estate, whatever the property throws at us — it's a quick enough trip that we never hesitate to make it.
